Title: Back with a different name
Post by: Simone on 12 December 2009, 08:24:14 pm
Hi all.
Ive had to delete my profile and start again due to a client linking me here from my indie site and reading my posts (thoughts which i really didnt want any potential clients reading) So from now on im  using a totally seperate name.

Ive kept a French name though just to help you guess who i am ;)

Its a timely reminder for us all though that SAAFE is a public forum and everything we say can be read by clients both potential and established. A real pain though seeming as though i was upto full member status and now i have to start again >:(

Very true, you do tend to forget that sometimes. Well, I do  :-\

Testing - I think you can change your display name in your account settings without having to make a whole new account?  I'm testing this .....yep, seems to work but just realised it probably changes all of your past posts too, so that's no good.

Plus, is he not now going to read these posts and realise it's still you hun? ???

Drive you mad sometimes don't they. I recently made sure it doesn't show when I log on as a client (you know who you are!) contacts me everytime he sees me go online here. I know he can still see when I post, but it is not quite as obvious.  :)

Good grief!

I know clients do often really enjoy being nosy and finding out all there is to know about a girl, often with no bad intent really, but also often to try and pinpoint further details about her identity and personal information. Maybe some guys of the more controlling variety don't like the idea of how free and anonymous and safe us SPs get to be online. Some of them surely think we need 'help' maintaining our anonymous online persona, and advertising ourselves, etc. I just take it for granted now that some silly berk is probably cross-referencing my blog posts with my forum logins and Tineye-ing my photos etc etc etc. As long as they don't book me and inform me about everything they've discovered about me that I would REALLY rather they didn't know, as though I'm going to burst into a round of applause because I'm so impressed with their Internet skillz! ::) It's really a very creepy way to commence a booking, after all.

I had a client email me anytime he saw me looking at the forums on Punternet, but I recently had the requisite shock which made me see sense so I don't even look over there anymore. It's for the best - I'm usually NOT in a very accommodating mood after a quick browse over Punternets headlines!
