Title: Are timewasters energy vampires?
Post by: LisaSmiles on 19 June 2020, 09:49:42 am
It is pretty bad at the moment for texts and calls from guys stuck at home or bored at work with no cash.  I have been watching What We Do In The Shadows on BBC and my favourite character is Colin Robinson who is an energy vampire.  He feeds on anger, frustration and anxiety which he causes by winding up or boring humans.
Recent episode showed him with ten laptops messaging people on social media, getting them angry and het up and him feeding off that.  Big smile on his face that he had found a way to feed without leaving the house!
Timewasters wind up escorts with stupid enquiries or by texting "Hey!"  or "Are you free?" or "Hi" or "I am a good looking six foot man do you want to see me?" and then text "??" when you don't reply within 2 minutes.  This gets us angry and stressed; the timewasters are feeding off that.  They could all be Colin Robinson.
So next really stupid message I receive I will challenge them and reply "Hi, I know you are really Colin Robinson"

"This gets us angry and stressed"

It doesn't though! Or it needn't. When I get the "you free" "hi u avail?" messages I ignore. If there is a number I can save I do just that and save it to tw. block or something similar. What I never do is reply!  Let them have their fun and games but they get no response at all from me.

I love that show. The episode where he gets a promotion at work and goes on a corporate rampage of inane conversations and office micro aggressions is hilarious! I've been sending a copy and paste to everyone who exhibits timewaster tendencies saying "if you want to chat, please send me a £50 amazon UK voucher and I'll do 20 minutes whatsapp video chat with my face covered." Seems to scare off all the timewasters and sometimes generates some vouchers for me to go shopping.

OMG yes! I was thinking the same watching the 2nd series  ;D Their pleasure comes from the reaction they get so I always ignore them. My energy is too precious!

I am considering the message above, I am also going to be advising a few that I run a business - some just seem to want a lot of chat by which I don't mean making an enquiry, it's more like dating or something to keep them company.

"Hi", "Hello beautiful", "Are you free", "How much" "Who dis"... so tedious.

Sometimes I text back later - Hello this is The Penis Enlargement Clinic returning your call.

😅😅😅

I sometimes reply hoping to educate or just to tell them how to book but pretty much 100%  these dudes are TWs and don’t deserve any replies.

How or indeed if I respond depends on what kind of mood I'm in. Mostly I just ignore them, but sometimes I just want to have fun playing with them *evil laugh*

I no longer reply to the short pointless texts or emails
I loose concerntration with the fantasist long emails they don't message by phone .
By ignoring I can move on hopefully to other genuine guys .
I used to get very wound up and annoyed but I gave too much of my time wondering if they were booking or not

I hardley feel that I bump in to timewasters because arranging bookings is done via aw and if they dissapear no worries. They get to phone me an hour before bookings. I believe my procedure weeds out the bad ones because time wasters and effort do not mix together.

I agree and think why give clients an opportunity to be twits? If something isn't working, sit back, re-evaluate, approach things different and then things will improve is my formula.

I send out a text to everyone who messages. Saying hi my name etc my prices, services offered owo, kissing, ro, massage, protected sex etc. Postcode the prices. I say please reply to this text with what services, length of service and time you require. I get them to call half hour before coming. I think the might help but I still get idiots and time wasters. I appreciate a full reply. Hardly ever get one on adult work through auto text so I think most who email are idiots and time wasters.

The thing is, a true time waster just wants an audience, just don't give them one?

After yet another malicious timewaster fake booking, I will be doing this from now on.

And I love Colin Robinson, but my favourite character is, of course, Nadya, or at least, Dolly Nadya.

This is so true and it bears repeating. Not just regards TW, but for every part of our business that isn't working out. We have two choices about things that make us unhappy/annoyed:
1. Carry on as usual and accept that we're unhappy
2. Analyse what is happening and take ACTION to change

A personal example - I hate advertising on Viva Street, as I abhor their attitude to sex workers, plus the level of TW via VS is unreal, but it does bring me business. I hated having to deal with the wanky texts and calls. So I got a new phone number for viva only, put that sim in an old handset, downloaded an auto responder and now all calls and texts get an auto reply asking them to contact my main number. Genuine clients are happy to do this.

I now get all the benefits of advertising on viva (usually averages around £300-400 a week) with none of the headache. I just need to charge the phone once a week and top up the Sim £10 a month.

Why don't you just block these texters? And replying is the worst thing you can do. To them any reply is a win because they literally just want a free chat. I've told time wasters to f-off and they still keep texting me trying to chat.

I never reply or contact a no show, I wouldn’t give them the satisfaction.  These twats are probably getting off on thinking your getting ready to see them, knowing they have no intention of showing.  I just save their number, they don’t get a second chance, no fucking way, not when I’ve got ready, sat there waiting for them and probably turned down a genuine booking because of them, not a fucking chance  :FF  I’m raging but somehow manage to stop myself from sending a shitty ranting message

Yes this is what i do most of the time just ignore there no show even if they say they are in the road. Most want a reaction to upset you and get off on it. Sometimes it is good to not say a word to them so they think they do not even matter.

I give out very little information via texts
It's just such a waste of our time
They are referred back to the profile polity after asking their pointless  questions .
I ignore their text requests
I don't WhatsApp them ever as it starts them off
Just remember your genuine guys don't ask all those stupid questions .
They turn up and get on with it .
As for the time wasters I never reply when they don't turn up  otherwise they would love it

These prats feed off your emotional reaction when they’ve messed you about.

Ignore!

Google ‘The Gray Rock Method’- and don’t feed them.

Or try this: play them at their own game.

Respond with boring or ambiguous texts, ie ‘hey’ or ‘k’

or if they keep on at you just say ‘hope to meet you’ , then they’ll probably text back thinking they’ve got you and will ask when they can come and see you, and again you reply ‘hope so’ - this will confuse them but every text they send just keep replying with bizarre answers.

They’ll soon get bored and go away.
