Title: anyone good at asjusting stuff please advise
Post by: Miss_Manc on 19 December 2012, 07:37:55 pm
Hi ladies

Just bought a gorgeous pair of thigh boots and they fit fine apart from at the top where they dig in a bit :( I do have big thighs and it looks awful. Short of losing a stone in the next few days how is the best way to adjust the tops to be a little wider? They're sort of elasticated at the top.

Thanks in advance!

If there are any alteration shops in your area, they should be able to  put an extra elastic panel on the inside to give them a bit extra stretch.  It might cost a bit more if they are leather, or you may need to find a specialist.

If you are good at sewing and the leather is soft, if they are very tight put a slit in them on the outside or get someone you know to do it neatly for you. If it is soft faux leather it should be very easy to sew around so the slit does not tear once you put them back on.
