Interview at parlour at weekend, wish me luck!
« on: 10 August 2010, 09:03:40 am »
I have finally decided to be brave and take a dip into the world of massage parlours, 2 of my friends are working at a really well known one in Manchester at the moment . They are really impressed with it so Ive arranged to go down for an interview there at weekend.

I'm terrified! when my friends went the owners said they weren't sure about taking them on as they were a 'bit plain' :o :o Apparently they went down in flat shoes, minimal make up etc, so i am assuming the dressed to the nines approach might be the best way for me to approach it?

Wish me luck everyone and if anyones got any tips for charming the pants off massage parlour owners please feel free to share.

If it is the one that begins with s then I would go for over the top slut look. Goodluck, and if you are asked, point them to your field reports, that should do the trick. My friend did a few shifts there, but she did not like it. V. strict, apparently.

Good luuuuuckk!!! :D

I'd say go for that "no make-up" look that requires ten tonnes of slap and four hours of blending so you can look all effortlessly perfect. :P But if Lucy knows the place, best go for her advice.

I think I'm probably more excited about this than you are! I really hope it goes well. I half don't think it could be worse than what you're dealing with at the mo. But I hope it's a LOT better!

Mmm. I will reserve judgement as I have heard various things. But a thousand million good wishes, at least you will be tired and loaded. Just nod like a seal and look suitably impressed with the well run business etc etc, you will be fine. Stock up on lanacane.

I'm fairly confident that it will be better than what I'm dealing with at the moment. Unless the building has broken toilets seats, no loo roll or hand wash, filthy walls, bed linen and towels and clients that are astonished you wont let them CIM and stick their fingers up your  bum for ?25 then i don't think it could be any worse ;D

It sounds like a case of horses for courses, my friends like it but they've come from my shitty agency where the owners dont give a stuff about even the most basic comforts so it probably feels like heaven after that. I'm good at nodding and smiling and to be honest if the business if really well run it will make a refreshing change for me. Im sick of working for people who couldn't find their arse with both hands.  >:(

So basically if i glam myself up like a drag queen i should be fine? Not a problem, i will dig my pan stick out. My friends who got told they were 'plain' said they deserved it to be honest. They went in no make up, flat shoes and jeans! I would never dream of going to an interview dressed like that, i always get dolled up if only to make myself feel better.

Will let you know how it goes, I'm excited/terrified and curious all at the same time

You will be fine and it is a exceedingly well run business. According to my friend, its very swish inside, with receptionists galore so you won't have to do anything other then your clients. As far as I am aware, if you are pretty and popular you are in already, its just up to you how long you can keep up being busy on that scale. Print off your internet reports if you are worried, but there is no need to be. Staff turnover is pretty high, but you are guaranteed a return.
