Just received one of those annoying unsolicited texts from some random number saying "Do you want to be first page Google when people are searching for escorts in your area....blah, blah, blah. My client's number 1 on the first page. I can do this for your top search terms and you only pay when you're first page"
I don't normally reply to these things, but I felt compelled to in this case. So I text back, "I'm already on the first page and I don't have to pay, thanks".

I got a text back saying they couldn't find my site. I text back again, giving them the most popular keywords to find me and said I come up third on the first page under directory UK Belles, which I do. "And, as I said, I don't have to pay for the privilege of being on the first page". They haven't replied. Funny that.

Ugh. I get "cheap waxing, brazillian, facial! etc etc" texts about 5 times a week from some ridiculous company, drives me NUTS.

It made a change from ones I normally get saying they did weaves and wigs and could braid my hair for me for a nominal price. Or ones saying I could get a cheap website made.
Spam texts were virtually unheard of a few years ago. It's only in the last couple of years that they seemed to have increased. They really are annoying, aren't they?

i get some calls tape calls on my land line...
its annoying... and i don't know how to really stop them... there is no person on the phone just a tape playing... arggg

Ugh, I knew it wasnt just me...

I have been getting spam texts every since I first started advertising on the websites. The other day (on my prepaid phone, not cheap!) I got 3 text messages in a row about some fucking tuxedo party advising me to hurry up and get my tuxedo from some fucking men's warehouse clothing store.

I also get all these invites to fundraisers, which is all coming from a city I no longer live in, but I kept the same number! Very frustrating but I try and not let it get to me. Im sure these people pull numbers off of the ads and go to work.

I've also gotten spam from saafe to my email...Upad landlords in the London area; go figure

This site doesn't send spam to anybody. All emails that come to Saafe come to me. We get our share of spam emails, but I don't send any out and neither does this site generate spam. Somebody might using our name, but it's not us.

I guess he means they're collecting addresses from here and he's deduced that because this is the only UK-based site that he's on. I get those messages too but I didn't know where they'd picked up my address.

Get whoever looks after the DNS for saafe.info to include an SPF ('Sender Policy Framework') record that says 'if you get any mail from this domain, it ain't from us so it must be fake'. Sensible email servers check to see if there's an SPF record for the domain an email is pretending to be from and act accordingly.

Joey's address is hidden in his profile (not sure if this was always so) so it's difficult for spammers to pick up his address.
But if there has been a point where he's shown his address for spammers to pick up on (as you do get on forums when you display your address), then it should be made more clearly than saying:

as it sounds like I or my webmistress use the name of Saafe to spam people, when it's not the case.

I apologise for sounding touchy, but we get enough grief from a few small-minded people who, for whatever reasons, have a grudge against myself or Saafe. They just need to read what Joey's written and they're running off at the mouth again.

Not every email server is 'sensible', but most of the big webmail services do.
