During a little quiet spell tonight on DirectIM I decided to do a little search for the number of escorts in Scotland.  Well it blew me away.  The number has gone up sevenfold ..... yes 700% in 4 years.

Four years ago there was about 300 working escorts in Scotland and business was great.  Ok this time of the year has always been 50 50 but even allowing for fake profiles and touring girls and girls just shagging to be able to afford to pay for "little johnnie's Christmas presents" that is still a big difference. 300 has gone up to over 2200 

No wonder the appropriate threads are getting added to numerous times over the day 

As Chanel says, surely this is actually about an increase in the number of people advertising on Adultwork, a single advertising site? I have no doubt that there are more prossies than there were four years ago, but 'the number of 'escorts' in Scotland' and 'the number of 'escorts' advertising on Adultwork in Scotland' isn't the same thing, is it?

I worked on and off for five years before I starting advertising on there and I definitely existed (and whilst I have good and bad days like everybody else, I can't complain about the number of bookings I get). There are going to be (and have always been) people working in all sorts of ways who don't use the site, whether it's because they don't advertise and just see regulars, only use newspapers or employ agencies, parlours and so on.Or just don't like the site and use their own websites and other directories - I still get far more punters finding me via Google and my personal site than I do off AW.

Its the same in many big cities in the USA too..some have doubled over the years, while in others with lower numbers, there's still some pooping up...but they don't usually last long. Long enough to steal a couple clients but, no match for someone with a website

Clients cannot be stolen lol.

There are certainly a few I would like to steal and put in my handbag!!
