what do you drink with clients?
« on: 27 July 2012, 05:33:48 pm »
I have a little mini bar in the flat stocked with a variety, coke, water and most popular is the Jamesons or Jack daniels  or red wine.
What do you offer or like to drink with clients (or even without clients)!

I very rarely drink alcohol full stop and never when I'm working. I wouldn't offer it to a client either, partly because I don't know whether they're driving, partly because I have no way of knowing how it will affect them and mainly because the smell (even when it's only faint) makes me want to yak ;D.

I have bottled water in the fridge, and I normally ask if they'd rather have tea or coffee if it's a longer appointment or if the weather's really cold. Sometimes I even get the hot chocolate out :D.

I always have filtered water, squash, tea and coffee oh and diet coke! If its a two hour booking or longer I will ask them what they would like to drink before and if it's something I don't have I'll pop to the shops and get a it. I learnt a very harsh lesson about drinking with clients so I won't have more than a couple of glasses of wine with them.

I hardly drink these days but personally I love a nice smooth merlot red wine, sometimes white but only a sweet one. If i'm being really naughty I'll drink double gin and tonics always got to be doubles! Haha!

Like Amy I very rarely drink alcohol.  And I hate clients who have had a drink before coming to visit, I hate the taste and smell on them.  I think I notice it more because I haven't been drinking.

I don't drink with clients because I don't trust myself not to make a fool of myself by getting the giggles, or falling asleep, which are my two default setting when drinking.  Besides I'm a control freak, there is no way that I'm going to relax until the clients is out of that door.

If they want a drink I have bottled water, soft drinks, tea but only if they don't mind goats milk.  (I'm allergic to cows milk). I hate the taste of coffee so never offer it.   Water is the most popular.

In my personal life, I'll drink anything apart from beer, larger etc yuck.  I'm partial to the alcoholic ginger beer at the moment.  It's been sitting in my kitchen for the last month and I think I might have it tonight.  Thanks for the reminder :D

My work flat is an alcohol free zone.  I hate the smell to the point if I smell it on somoenes breath I am physically sick.
If a client turns up smelling of it I ask them to leave as my profile and website clearly state do not come to see me if you have consumed any alcohol
I always have cold water, coke zero as well as lots of different cold fruit juices and I always have a diabetic fruit juice from boots just incase.

If it's a long booking (2 or more hours) in the evening I'll have a glass of wine and offer the client some. Otherwise I stick to orange juice, different teas, coffee, cold water and coke.

In my private life I only drink water most of the time, I hate how many calories are in most drinks, and diet ones make me bounce off the walls, so water it is.  :-\

Most clients who would like a drink prefer water. I personally drink our perfectly nice tap water, and bottled water would just sit for weeks. I also have sugar free squash, tea, coffee (real coffee, as well as decent instant), herbal teas too. Very occasionally a client may wish to have a glass of wine, and I'll either get a bottle in at request or he'll bring one. Usually ends up sat in the kitchen 3/4 full for several weeks afterwards! I will have a glass with a dinner date, but not if I'm driving that day.

I don't offer alcohol to clients,as I had bad experience in the past.Guy brought a bottle of plum vodka, and had a few drinks. He turned quite unpleasant and demanded money back.Fortunately my regular client was around, and helped me out.
I've did threesome with two guys and one had few beers. He was demanding abusive arshole.
Since then all I offer is still water. If they want a drink they can have one afterwards.

See, I wish our tap water tasted nice - it's naff and it doesn't run cold properly at the moment either. I would love to have fresh fruit juice and I always used to, but as Casey said it's lots of sugar and calories - it uses up loads of propoints if you're on Weightwatchers so I just eat the fruit instead (which bizarrely isn't any points).

If I think about it, all of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had working have involved alcohol in some way, including the only time I have ever had to bodily throw somebody out of my flat. There have been other crappy ones where it's not been involved but the combination just doesn't work for me, hence the blanket ban.

Tea, coffee, water or orange juice.  Water is the most popular, "vin de tapalina!", lol.

i don't drink  but i do have   bottle of water ( i hate tap water )  orange juice /squash  and i also buy mini bottles of wine  in red and white that way if a client wants some wine  then  they know that they are not over the limit as the mini bottles are only 2 small glass sizes of wine

Hmmm I must be the only one but I end up having a drink at almost every booking. I never have more than a booking a day so I never end up drunk or even remotely drunk- just 'in the mood'. My drink of choice is usually a creamy liquer with ice so my clients frequently compliment me on my sweet kisses :)
My clients never drink much although they usually bring something along with them. I end up with a nice bar selection after a number of bookings  ;D
