I am watching a news documentary about Aberdeen oil

My question is was the Aberdeen crisis detrimental for the sex industry there?

I am just trying to understand for I have heard a lot and never been or have first hand experiences there...

Yes the oil industry was great for the adult industry in its hey day.  The adult industry seems to have deteriorated with the lessening of the oil workers now in Aberdeen. 🙁
