Does it ever bug anyone when they are told that they are too good to be a WG - "you're better than this".
I have a regular client who says this and its really starting to bug me - I think I'm doing pretty darn well, thank you very much. Who out of the pair of us gets paid a lot of money to be taken out to fancy dinners and do things that they really enjoy.... and who is the one who is paying for it...?
Hope you ladies don't mind me having a bit of a whinge tonight.... I need a shoulder to cry on!

For me, one of the worst types of clients are those who feel that I need 'saving'! So I can completely sympathise with you lili69 :)
If he felt so strongly that you shouldn't be doing it, he wouldn't be seeing you ::)

I worked in a pub part time. Shit hours, shit pay, shit treatment - spent whole time thinking 'I'm better than this'. Everything's relative I s'pose. The awful meat f*ck clients that treat you like a walking orifice...Yeah they do make me think that I am better than that. Because I am. Everyone is. But the majority, the nice ones; God some treat you so well that it's kind of a case of 'I'm not sure I deserve this'.
I wouldn't take it personally, he probably thinks it's what you want to hear.

Oh god, I have had punters tell me, "So you're just doing this to pay the bills? Don't make it into a career!"
The worst was, "No, Melody, you are so much more clever and skilled than other girls I have met up with! Don't go down this path."
It is like... listen here, chap, you're the one paying me premium rates for sex. If you keep saving all the WG's there will be no more for you to sleep with. Bugger off.

After I tell my clients I'm a student: "So you do this just to get a bit of spending money?" Like they're trying to reassure themselves I only do this to buy a pretty thing or two, not because I have rent/bills to pay, I love to travel, I save most of the money I earn ? all the normal reasons people work and want to get paid ::)

Yes we are. And I can really relate to that. I think it's important to remember that prostitution is only as good as the way our clients treat us. Which is why I think it's dangerous to assume that we're all so in control and liberated and always do what we really want at any given time. I find that mindset even more oppressive than "we're all victims" mentality coming from pseudo-feminists.
I don't get irritated by clients saying "you're better than this". Because I think what they really mean is: you're better than risk getting abused or mistreated by some inconsiderate arseholes.

I got it once or twice at the beginning and made me wonder. I'm better than what? Than the way you're treating me? If we met at the dorchester and you paid me triple what you did, would you still be saying this? Which part am I actually better than? I still don't understand to be honest.

And the fact that they have come to have sex with a prostitute doesn't even seem to factor into their thinking or strike them as to how stupid their comment was when they take that into account!! Men - wish we could conveniently compartmentalise our thought processes like they do lol!!! Mental.

i have told one of my male friends that im doing this now and at first he seemed fine about it, then cue a few hours later him getting drunk and telling me "you are better than that"
then it became "if you can have sex with strangers for money then do it with me for free"

Really, why I am too nice to be paid ?600 for me to sit in a bar with you and have a glass of wine, to go back to the room and you to have a wank and then for me to sleep for 7 hours? I think that's being treated pretty well, thanks very much! ;D

Half the reason I decided to try escorting (apart from being totally skint) was because I was getting sick of dates treating me like I thought an escort would be treated - i.e. I paid for dinner/drinks therefore you owe me sex. Since starting escorting 99% of the time I am treated with far more kindness and respect than I ever was by dates!!! Wish I'd have cottoned on to this years ago...!!
