"Webcam Boys" - BBC3 last night, on iPlayer now
« on: 04 February 2016, 12:36:43 pm »
Just a heads up that there was a programme on BBC3 last night called "Webcam Boys", if anyone's interested in watching it's probably on iPlayer now. There was quite a heavy AdultWork presence, alongside a couple  of flashes of Cam4 and Streamate and some Skype (sounds) activity.

One of the guys also started escorting but then gave up on the sex industry all together as he wasn't making enough money to support his family. If you watch the programme you'll see that he spent a LOT of time entertaining TWs who phoned to enquire about his services (aka: having a free wank).

And a classic (not) line from the voice over man: the two friends earn so much from camming "that they haven't had to hold down a proper job" (since X years ago). And yes, the voice over DOES put THAT emphasis on proper.

Anyway. Look forward to even more AW registrations, alongside lots more guys contacting you to do "shared content" when they realise it's not all easy money.

Yeah, I watched that last night in my hotel rooms once I finished work. I came on here to see if anyone had started this conversation, so didn't know anyone else had seen it. It did make me chuckle with all those time wasters that one guy had. And he said he could spend up to half an hour trying to sound interested! Half an hour! When he was describing about one phone call where the guy kept changing his mind about wanting to be with him, then with him and his girlfriend, then their 15 year old daughter as well. I just wanted to smack him around the head! Wake up. He is a timewaster. Lol. He did seem a little dim, though.

The two boys and the one who went to London before going back home again were doing pretty well.

Unfortunately, like you said, there will be an abundance of men thinking 'I could do that'...

I caught a bit of this last night. I couldn't believe that guy spent *half an hour* on the phone with that timewaster  ::) I rolled my eyes but then I wonder what i would be putting up with if it wasn't for SAAFE and the benefit of everybody's experience here.

I saw about 5 mins of it with the 19 yr old lad working from his Mum's garage. I don't think I'd be comfortable in that situation. I've never done camming & most of these shows reinforce the feeling of how I couldn't be bothered with it all.

Yeh I watched about 10 minutes of it before I started thinking 'how fake' and 'set up' a lot of it was.  Yes I particurlary noticed what Cat said about 'not having to hod down a real job'.

Enough said.

I've just watched it and once again it had to mention how the Welsh guy had had a drug problem - as if this industry and all the people in it must have had a link with substance abuse in some way  ::) ::) ::)

Well, I'm a t-total and have cammed before, bloody hated it in the end coz it's such hard work and not 'easy' money at all  >:(

I watched it. It does seem like harder work than prossying but I guess if you can't or don't want to escort it fills a niche that's still better pay than working in a bar or shop.
I think it seemed a pretty fair portrayal
