Yea ive never even give it chance!!
im 99%sure it not my thing..

one day i was watching come dine with me,set in essex..
and me and by boyfriend were getting so frustrated,at how many times they kept saying essex.
it was just in every conversation and subject..
i never say, im from manchester over and over and over..
there is definetly something about your place, thats stuck..

also on dinner date a few weeks ago it was set in essex!
and the guy was suprised, that this girl was from essex, who he had a date with, as she "seemed"to posh.wtf!
i feel sorry that guys and girls are getting generalised, where your from, it must be very frustrating..
i personally,wouldnt like it..

but it really does get mentioned all the time now..
if someones on a talk show and the presenters like "where you from"?
essex"
its big screams..
theres definetly something about essex!

All I can say is its giving the Scottish and the Irish a break.  You can keep the popularity if you like.
Beauty is nothing to do with having a pretty face.
It is about having a pretty mind, a pretty heart,
And most importantly a beautiful soul.

Essex girl jokes were doing the rounds years ago, the whole image of Essex girls (blonde, stupid, tarty etc) is not a new thing! daft thing is there are girls of this ilk in every county!

If promoting yourself as a dizzy blonde works for you then go for it! There is a lot of mileage in the slutty look in my experience (despite being brunette!)

Incidentally Dame Maggie Smith is an Essex girl!

i use it and have no problems with it.  I was supposed to tour recently (ex changed dates he was taking kids away & omitted to mention till 2 days before - i think he keeps a notebook 'new ways to be a prat' and gets his pen out every time inspiration strikes! grrr!). anyway I did a 'Beware! Essex Bird approaching - find out if its true what they say' and 'Essex Girls do it better - and in white stilettos!' type blurb.  it Amused me and anything that does that, usually amuses the clients and amused guys are smiling guys and THEY BOOK, sometimes ;-~) x
On a more serious note I've always enjoyed shoving peoples misconceptions right back at them! A particular joy is if you get into a fairly serious chat about e.g. politics or literature etc and after being a tad patronised possibly? I then unsheathe my claws, so to speak.  I love that look of surprise when they realise you do know more than just how to give a bj!
At that point I usually say 'oh, I'm sorry.  Did you want the thick whore experience?'
Priceless!

Oh this is my guilty pleasure. I love it when guys come in assume I've lied about being a student (graduate after tomorrow!!) and then we end up chatting and their jaw hits the ground. best feeling ever.

I don't think a lot of people listen to the stereotypical media. You could say the same thing about Newcastle (Geordie shore) that all Geordies are binge drinking nymphos. Which obviously isn't the case. I'm from Milton Keynes, I wear make up, hair extensions and use sun beds. And I party like a Geordie. Lol.
Everything on tv is totally exaggerated. And I'm pretty sure most people know that.

I don't know actually, i think repetition has effect. However we all suffer from it in this line of work, no matter where we live or what our hair colour!

It must be having some kind of effect.  I've had one regular client asking me to act like I was on towie, and dress and act like a proper Essex girl. Fake nails, short tight skirt etc

And I had someone on the phone today who asked if I was a proper Essex girl and was a little disappointed when I said I was a Londoner who had adopted Essex as her home.

More great examples of my point. Some guys seem to want the 'Essex Style' experience and purposely search out for it!
