I saw it, based on a true story.

Makes me realise once again how lucky I am to be Independent as there are millions who don't have that choice (not just SW, all kinds of trafficking)

I tried to watch it but am on tour and the internet signal is abysmal.

I'll try to catch it at home.

Haven't watched it yet, but the real woman involved was recently interviewed by Jenny Murray on Woman's Hour, Radio 4. It should be searchable on BBC iPlayer radio.

They also played a shorter clip of the interview on Mondays' show.

I can't watch these things, its like being confronted with animal abuse imagery online or something... too  saddening/enraging.

I watched it last night, it was very powerful. The female pimp character was chilling. I wonder how those clients could bring themselves to book a WG who was so obviously working under duress, covered in bruises. They must have pretended to themselves that all was well. I can't think of how else they could sleep at night. The sooner human trafficking is ended the better  >:(

Sadly, though I think some men use these women and go through the dissonance mill to justify it to themselves, I think there is some contingent of punters who not only know that these women are pimped and controlled, but don't care and even feel aggrieved when said circumstances mean the women in question are not up to giving them the bells and whistles GFE treatment. From things I've read some punters write online and from some small scale studies on the subject. God knows how big a contingent... one hopes its small.

I have read things written by punters complaining that the girl was sullen, spoke no or little English and was working in a bare shit hole with just a bare mattress on the floor... But they very rarely even seem to wonder if she's there under her own free will.

In person, I meet a lot of punters who say that they see me because they don't want to see a trafficked girl. Obviously, I'm glad they choose me, but I sometimes think they're looking for brownie points from me. "Oooh! You're one of the good ones, aren'tcha?"  ::)

Yeah, no extra credit for not being a rapist.

It touched my heart after watching this yesterday evening.
How difficult for girls who don't choose this work but are forced into it.

I watched it too and heard the interview on Woman's Hour. Bloody awful, but what also struck me was that they took her to NI and were going to move to Sweden. So much for the Nordic Model being a deterrent to traffickers..
