I agreed. Especially the posts ripping on providers who are paid under 50 pounds. Can you really expect all of the bells and whistles for that amount?
One thing that does make me happy is that none of the review boards completely tear apart physical attributes (unless they were grossly mis-represented...I can always be super-friendly and enthusiastic...but I can't vanish a few stretch marks...)
I'm iffy about the constant "she didn't enjoy her job" comments on TER and Punternet...
what are people supposed to do if someone is clearly not being coerced/exploited but seems to hate the job [I'm not talking about house-full-of-kids or tract marks...]?
I mean, if it's a choice, then it's a choice... so clearly as much as is hated, the money is worthwhile. Is it better for clients to just walk away then and not pay? Or just hand over the cash as a charity case? Or supply the worker with a list of referrals to welfare agencies and a shoulder to cry on? Isn't that a bit condescending?
Cleanliness, atmosphere, care/enthusiasm/consideration are sorta a part of the job.
I mean, I'm not really sure what I'd do if I went in for a swedish massage, the bathroom was a mess, there were toys strewn throughout the appointment room, and screaming cries of children rather than mood music in the background...If I did the yelp-comments-thing, I'm pretty sure I'd write a bad review.
And I honestly did trash my high school guidance counselor (who, I'm guessing was being paid $15 US an hour) for indifference, lack of enthusiasm for job and general unprofessionalness in a feedback form...I guess the same deal with professors and grad student TAs at university. This is something my relatives (quite religious...) always do when they talk about different priests...
I don't really get it. (Maybe I'm just a bitch?)
