Parlour Help Please
« on: 08 May 2010, 09:04:23 pm »
Hi, I'm new to the forum so please go easy on me ladies  ;D

My name is Molly and I've been a parlour girl for years. I'm based in Glasgow but the powers that be have decided to close everywhere down so I moved into private flats but they have started on them now too so off to Edinburgh I went. Trouble is the place I am in will only give me 2 doubles a week and won't let the girls work anywhere else to supplement their income. I need to work at least one more day somewhere, preferably two, but as I was at my last place for 7 years I'm a bit out of touch with the scene elsewhere. I figure the best thing to do would be to work outwith Edinburgh so I don't get caught/ fired, and outwith Glasgow so I (hopefully) don't get raided.

So now for the question...does anybody know of a decent parlour to work in a couple of days a week? I am prepared to travel down south, maybe as far as Yorkshire. Or does anyone know of any flats closer to home but outwith the big cities?

Any information/ suggestions would be very gratefully received  :)

Molly x

Hello,
I don't think there's much about parlours on here, but have you considered any big agencies up your way or indie work?

The only way I can think of to find out about parlours is to search the punter sites - search their forums for discussions on parlours that mention the area you want to work in, and also search their reviews for those submitted on establishments in the right area. Obviously, you'll only get the punter-sided view of the places but you'll certainly find out which ones are the most busy and popular and probably, if a parlour's making hundreds of punters happy every week, then it's possibly more likely that the girls are happy working there (as unhappy girls are more likely to put a punter off and/or offend them and get a bad report etc). So it's a bit roundabout and will require plenty of brain-filtering to ascertain the reasonably accurate information vs. the nonsense that some punters (and pretend-punters) do like to post on forums, but it should help give you some sort of idea at least! :)

Edited to add: Punter sites include PunterLink and PunterNet - you can pop those names into Google for the web addresses if you need them.

Hi Molly!

I've heard about the situation in Glasgow and it must be a real pain in the arse - I know there are plenty in Edinburgh but that won't help you if you're not allowed to work for more than one and you need more shifts.

The problem with looking due south of Edinburgh is that brothels are not tolerated anywhere much the length of the North East; there are a few agencies with incall flats that ladies on here have mentioned (none particularly favourably) but parlour wise, AFAIK, there is nothing at all until you get to Hull, which I daresay is further than you meant. There are a couple in York and a (very) few in Leeds.

Could you travel from Glasgow and try the North West side? Things are different there, and there are some well thought of places (as Emily said, look at the FRs) which could be worth your while travelling to if it's only a couple of days a week and they're consistently busy.

*...runs off to  look at map...*   :)

I guess I need to bite the bullet and get on the phone to some places. Think I'm just a bit scared as I worked a lot of well dodgy places in my younger days, but always with my best friend - the thought of going on the road alone is a bit daunting after all these years. Must toughen up!!

Thank you all for your advice.

I'm afraid I can't help with tips regarding parlours in your area (as I'm London based). But these are the things that I'm now trying to think of when looking for parlour work:

  • Cheapest Service - what exactly is on offer? I once made the mistake when starting at a new place by thinking a ?40 20 min service would only consist of massage + handrelief. That, until I started at a place and was suddenly expected to provide "fuck, suck & massage" for same money. Which quickly brings us to point 2.

  • Beware of brothels wishing you to start right away - without prior interview. Sounds obvious, but it just didn't occur to me at the time. Hence why I ended up doing "suck, fuck & massage" for less than ?20 in my pocket... Doh! It is better to go for an interview first, ask all the details (services expected, how the money are split, etc) , then decide if you'd like to work there. Yes, you might have already thought of it (unlike me 2 years ago).

  • What their web sites and review sites say about their prices - and for which services. I personally try to stay clear of places which blatantly advertise: All Services, All Ladies Specialise, Specialising All Areas and similar boasts. To me it's tacky, and it smacks of a place which expects you to give OWO to every wanker on their door step, instead of only doing things at your own discretion. I also take it as a warning sign if a web site states OWO as part of a set priced "VIP service". To me it looks like a place which happily takes your money for those "extras" that you do, despite you being the one taking those additional STI risks.

  • Introductions to clients - and where the money are kept. One reasonably good 2- 4 women place I last worked at let us keep the money ourselves throughout the day and pay the establishment at the end of our shift. That so you could charge for any "extras" at your own discretion - and keep those money. The scum places insist on sending the maid in to negotiate which services you do and taking the money off the clients. A friend of mine got in a sticky situation once where a guy expected OWO since that's what "the receptionist said and he'd paid for it". And this was after my friend made it explicitly clear to the maid that she wasn't going to give this guy any OWO.  ::) Now, there are perfectly plausible places where they expect you to give the maid the money straight away, until it's split after the shift. That works in non specialising flats where fees are set (so you wouldn't charge extra anyway). It's just that too many specialising places like to instil same model...

  • Best way to hear about good/bad places is by working alongside other ladies. Unless they're all horrible and bitchy of course. But I've been lucky so far that I only encountered nice ladies, although I took some of the gossiping with a hefty pinch of salt.  ;) I recognise that tactic of your place telling you not to work anywhere else but guess what? A lot of other ladies propably already do, but just don't tell their establishment about it. It is tricky though if you are all in the same area as punters like to gossip - so I feel your pain. It just angers me when brothels think they can dictate orders to us as if we're employees. What's next, fixed wage and a P45? As we all know it, we are most likely to stay loyal to places which don't charge us arm and a leg, look after us and advertise properly.

  • Consistent advertising - or not? It's good to look whether a place has a web site, where that web site appears, any paper advertising etc. I've started at one place last year which was really busy and well run. A few months later the number of clients slumped for which the recession got blamed. What the new owner didn't mention was that their web site was down, and that their previously consistent Daily Sport box ads have shrank to sporadic (sometimes absent for 5 days in rows) lineage ads in same paper. All whilst we were expected to pay more because you know, it was recession...

  • Check Daily Sport for places. That tip came from a woman I knew when working. Although I then ended up very briefly at this quiet, God forgotten place solely attracting TWs despite (or because?) their consistent lineage adverts in Daily Sport. So I guess it goes both ways.

Thank you so much SnakeLady, a very well thought out reply. Have decided to get a grip now, stop being such a pussy and get on the phone to some places next week  ;D

LouLou, a PM is on the way...
